We like that 2909 is a prime number, a calendar year in the future and could be the name of a robot.

Our name is in fact inspired by the tag of a Lleyn sheep who grazes happily on an organic farm in the Scottish Borders. Research has shown that most humans flock like sheep, subconsciously following a minority of individuals. It takes just 5% to influence a group’s behaviour, the other 95% typically follow without consciously realising they are doing so.  Sheep2909 stands out from her flock for her independent and curious spirit.

Our work seeks to make individuals more consciously aware of their own behaviour, of our interdependency and need to imagine beyond the herd as we confront the challenges of our times.
